Homecoming

Join Alphie and Wolfie as they defend Mackay Stadium Oct 1st- 7th for Homecoming 2012. This week long Super Hero themed celebration will include fun and exciting events to show off your pack spirit, including the Annual Bonfire, Parade and the exciting football game against Wyoming State.

 

Monday, Oct 1

Lunch

Kick off Homecoming, by coming to the lawn in front of the Joe from 12pm-2pm and picking up your official Alphie and Wolfie Super Hero Homecoming t-shirt.  Don’t forget to grab a free lunch from Bo Dawgs but hurry as we only have enough for 300. 

Cool Kids Concert

Come enjoy the Cool Kids Concert in the Joe Ballroom at 8pm. The Cool Kids is an American hip hop group. Consisting of rappers Antoine "Sir Michael Rocks" Reed, Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll, and closely affiliated with 10ille, the group is based in Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan.   http://www.coolxkids.com/

BBQ

Show off your super strength by testing out the Mechanical bull on Oct 2nd with this years’ Homecoming BBQ from 10am-2pm on the Joe Lawn.

 

Wednesday, Oct 3

Wolves Frolic Talent Show

Come out and watch the annual Wolves Frolic Talent Show that showcases Nevada Super Hero spirit.  The Nevada Alumni Association will be awarding the student team with the most school spirit.  The Joe Ballrooms at 7pm.

 

Thursday, Oct 4

National Student Day Lunch

During your break from class come by the Joe Lawn from 12pm-2pm and enjoy lunch at the National Student Day, provided by ASUN and the Nevada Wolf Shop.   You can visit with service clubs and find out to get involved. 

Pack Gives Back Pageant and Auction

The Homecoming Queen and King will be walking the catwalk to compete for the crown at this event.  Also bring your checkbook as gift baskets will be sold to the highest bidder. The Pack Gives Back Pageant and Auction starts at 7pm at the Davidson Math and Science room 110.   

 

Friday, Oct 5

Bonfire & Carnival Booths

Starting at 6pm clubs and organizations will be providing Superhero themed Carnival booths.   As soon as it gets dark, the annual Homecoming Bonfire will be started.   The bonfire and carnival is located in the North area of campus just pass the Medical School.

 

Saturday, Oct 6

Wolf Trot

Wolf Trot is the annual 5k that runs you all over campus starts at 7am.  Come out in your best Super Hero costume and support the Pack on game day.   Contact Campus Recreation at 775-682-7173 for more information.

Parade 

The “Defenders of Mackay Stadium” Homecoming parade is sure to be the best one so far.  Come out a see clubs and organizations and their Super Hero floats and Marching Bands from around town.  Parade starts at 9am sharp starting a 9th & Virginia and continues up to 15th & Virginia.  If you live in the Res Halls view the parade from your front door!

Football Game 

Support the Nevada Football team as they defend Mackey Stadium from Wyoming in the Homecoming game starting at 4:05pm.   The team that wins the Silver and Blue cup for Homecoming will be announced at half time at the game.
