Senior Bucket List: 20 Things to do in Your Last Semester Before College Graduation

Take yourself out to a fancy dinner

You deserve it! You have worked hard day in and day out. Take some time and reward yourself for all of your accomplishments. There are many places around Reno, from Italian food at Olive Garden to American food at Stone House Cafe, take your pick!

Take a road trip

You live by a schedule while you're in school. Everyday you wake up go to class, nap and then repeat. Why not go out and take a spontaneous adventure? There are so many beautiful places around Reno; go and see them! You can visit Pyramid Lake or even take a slightly longer trip to California.

Take a picture everyday

Yeah, I know it sounds weird, but you will appreciate it later in life. Don’t waste all of your pictures on timeless selfies. Take pictures of your room, campus, your friends, your family and of course yourself... but not in a selfie fashion.

Take time to sit in the quad

You have walked by the peaceful Quad for the past four years, but have you ever actually taken the time to sit and enjoy its beauty?

Learn to make one dinner

You’re so close to going into the real world so why not actually learn to make a dinner meal? I don’t mean mac ‘n’ cheese in a fancy bowl, I mean like an actual meal. You’ll appreciate it later on and it will be a good skill to have.

Win the lottery

Hey, you can dream right?

Participate in karaoke

Not everyone in the world has the most amazing voice, but you can definitely act like you do. Take your friends and go take part in karaoke. It will make for a night to remember.

Invest in a work wardrobe

You’re a grown-up now, so why not start dressing like one? This doesn’t mean you have to throw away all of your super hero shirts and skinny jeans, but maybe hide them away for safekeeping and then go out and buy nice dress pants or a cute cardigan. You will look grown-up and fashionable.

Take things less seriously

It is your last semester of college, enjoy it. There’s nothing to be stressed about. People have graduated before you and they turned out great and you will be fine too. So, take a breath and relax.

Prepare ridiculous answers to the dreaded question

You know the question I’m talking about, “What are your plans after you graduate?” Why not entertain them with a ridiculous answer? “I’m planning on traveling to the amazon to live like Tarzan for a couple of years before I return to the U.S. to pursue my dreams of becoming a Disney Princess at Walt Disney World.” Then, maybe they won’t pester you as much. Not everyone has solid plans for post-graduation and that’s okay. This is your time to figure out what you want to do with your future and that can always change.

Reconnect with old friends

Whether they are your friends from high school or your fellow floormates from your freshmen year in the residence halls reach out to them and rebuild that relationship. You never know, they could’ve changed and developed into amazing people that you could be friends with well into the future.

Get a picture with your mascot

Even though you have had four years to do this some of you probably still haven't met Wolfie, Alphie or even Luna. This is the time to attend basketball games and make your move!

For the basketball schedule visit: or

Watch the sunrise on campus

After a long night or maybe even just for fun; go find a spot on The Quad to sit and watch the sunrise. It is a beautiful sight you wouldn't want to miss.

Take the time to thank the people who have gotten you this far

You have come so far and have grown up so much during your time here at Nevada and you didn’t do it completely on your own. Whether they are your family, friends, co workers, professors or even your enemies; someone has contributed to your success here, so thank them for the impact they have made on your life.

Buy yourself a graduation gift

Again, you have worked so hard that you deserve a gift. Go to the Wolf Shop and pick out something for yourself. It could be the graduation frame you’ve always wanted or even your first alumni purchase. Whatever it is, make it good because you deserve it.

To look at Wolf Pack alumni merchandise visit:

Go to a part of campus you’ve never been before

Everyday you walk the same path to class and may not notice other parts of campus. Take a day and go on an adventure to explore your campus. There are so many amazing places that you may not know exist. Have you visited the W. M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum in the Mackay School of Mines? Or the Church of Fine Arts to check out all of the amazing art work displayed around the building?

Get in shape

We all make the new year’s resolution to get in shape, but we know it never actually happens. This is your time to reach that goal. You have so many incentives to motivate you, like your last Spring Break in college quickly approaching and of course your graduation from college. This is your time to be in the best shape you can be.

Pose with an important campus statue

This may sound weird, but this will add to the memories that you can look back on of your beloved campus. Go visit John Mackay in The Quad or the wolves at the entrance of Mackay Stadium.

Say “yes” to all things senior

Yes, you went through these same activities as a high school senior, but now you already know the process and can go through it smoothly. Schedule your senior pictures, order your announcements and class ring, take part in graduation traditions. This may actually be the last time you’ll ever get to do this.

Last, but certainly not least, make it to graduation! You have finally made it! You have worked very hard and have accomplished so much! You are ready to go out into the world and share your knowledge and experiences that you have gained here at the University of Nevada! Congratulations!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" -Marianne Williamson
