The Nevada Wolf Shop not only has a new name (formerly the ASUN Bookstore) but has recently undergone renovations to directly cater to the various needs of students.   The new renovations are aimed to provide for all the amenities that students are looking for. The Nevada Wolf Shop is also looking to promote a healthier college lifestyle among students by carrying new products.

The most noticeable changes have been made to the former Pack Pit Stop. It has been completely re-constructed to provide healthier food options for students in addition to typical convenience store items.  Marie Stewart, Director of the Nevada Wolf Shop, has brought in organic foods from a local source to help create a grocery-store feel that welcomes students.

“We’re just trying to bring a healthier alternative to students. That and the Nevada Wolf Shop (formerly known as the Pack Pit Stop) was so packed and big…I just wanted to turn it into something that students wouldn’t be afraid to walk into and find whatever they want,” said Stewart.

Some of the new alternative food products include gluten-free milk and butter, frozen organic foods, and nitrate-free soups, wraps and salads.  Stewart hopes to continue to expand the organic food options the store will sell.

Also, Stewart is currently working on creating a lounge area on the second floor. So far, the lounge has three Apple iMac computers available for student use as well as FREE printing. Stewart would like to add couches as well to encourage a relaxing environment for students to re-charge, do homework, or simply chill.

“We tried creating a lounge area for the students on campus that maybe didn’t want to go out and have the buzz of the Union,” said Stewart.

Stewart wants to continue to add to the products the Nevada Wolf Shop carries so that students can virtually buy everything they need in one place. Even sports equipment is now for sale for those who need new gear.

Students looking for textbooks, school supplies, Nevada wear, computers, healthier food alternatives, or a place to hang need only go to one place: the Nevada Wolf Shop.
