ASUN awards $45,000 in scholarships each year to students at the University of Nevada, Reno.
All ASUN Scholarship Applications are to be completed and submitted electronically through the links below. Submissions will only be accepted once per person per scholarship.
Any questions or concerns regarding scholarship applications should be directed to the ASUN Chief of Staff, at (775) 784-6589 or via email at chiefofstaff@asun.unr.edu. For special arrangements in terms of scholarship applications, the ASUN Chief of Staff should be contacted.
Application Open Date: February 1st, 2012
Application Close Date: March 2nd, 2012 at 5pm
Five $1,000 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Based upon the applicant’s involvement in the campus and local community as well as his demonstration of leadership skills, through participation in diverse activities, including, but not limited to, on-campus volunteer work, leadership roles in ASUN clubs, organizations and government activities, leadership roles in individual college-based, academic, or extra-curricular activities.

3.0 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
Five $1,500 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Based upon the applicant’s involvement in the campus and local community as well as adequate demonstration of need.
Requirements:
2.75 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
Five $1,500 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Based upon the applicant’s academic achievements, participation in university activities, as well as adequate demonstration of need
Requirements:
3.25 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
Three $1,000 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Recognizes a need for day care financial support.
Requirements:
2.5 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
Five $1,000 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria:Based primarily on need. Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno, and involvement are secondary considerations.

2.5 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status with Junior standing
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
Three $500 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Recognizes promotion of foreign cultures at UNR or an interest in international affairs. Consideration based on:
1. Promotion of foreign cultures at UNR (60%)
2. Interest in international issues (25%)
3. Cumulative GPA and class standing (15%)
Requirements:
2.5 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
One $1000 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Based on applicant's promortion of community spirit, public service, and quest to make the university a safer learning environment.

Undergraduate Student Status

Three $1000 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Recognizes students 25 years of age or older. Based primarily on need.

Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 12 Credits or More
Two $500 scholarships awarded.
Scholarship Criteria:Based primarily on need. Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno, and involvement are secondary considerations.

Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in At Least 7 Credits and No More Than 11 Credits
Five $1000 scholarship awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Merit-based scholarship based on unselfish, active involvement at UNR and within the community as a whole.
Requirements:
2.75 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
Undergraduate Student Status
Currently Enrolled in 9 Credits or More
Two $1,000 scholarships awarded
Scholarship Criteria: Recognizes student with a disability. Based primarily on need.

Undergraduate Student Status

Five $1,000 scholarships awarded

Undergraduate Student Status

One $1,500 scholarship awarded.
Scholarship Criteria: Recognizes a need for financial support. Recipients shall have made positive impacts on the LGBTIQ community.
History:
The UNR Queer Student Union (QSU) established this scholarship in 2009 to assist individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender, who have made positive impacts on the LGBTIQ community. This scholarship is a direct result of the cooperation between students, faculty and community member in reaching for equality for all. The QSU is a social and political organization that seeks to promote the acceptance and understanding of LGBTIQ individuals, as well as support the development and progression of a safe, open community.
Requirements:
a. 3.0 Cumulative GPA at the University of Nevada, Reno
b. Undergraduate student status
c. Currently enrolled in 12 credits or more
